Our First Christmas!

So, I could sit here and write something about the Two of Us, and what's going on. But I think the pictures speak for themselves...

So, the link I had for the pictures no longer works. I'm going to have to find another way to post pics on here!

Thanksgiving with a little hint of Christmas

We went to Denver for Thanksgiving this year, and what a trip to be thankful for! We got to see family, friends, and SNOW! It was quite a memorable Thanksgiving.

Since Timothy and I will not be able to be in Denver for Christmas, Kevin and Martha Lee made this trip extra special and threw in a little hint of Christmas for us. We got to help pick out a tree (albeit a little early), decorate it, and even open presents! It was truly a special time.

There used to be lots of pictures here... but no longer thanks to a damaged link. So sorry!

Honeymoon Pics

I know I said I would post reception pics, but for some reason I still don't have them all. So here are honeymoon pics! Timothy took me to Jamaica and we stayed in Negril at the Riu Tropical Bay Resort. I could not have asked for a better first week of married life. It was ideal, to say the least.

We didn't really take a whole lot of pictures mainly because I'm not the picture-taking type usually (I'm trying to get better at that). But what we have, we love. Enjoy!

It's a good thing I don't rely on blogs to keep my pictures... I 'd be sorely disappointed since the link I used to share them with you has now broken.

This wraps up the ceremony. I'll post reception pics and then some miscellaneous pics. Sorry I've been so slow at keeping this up!!!

Wish you guys could see this! But the link I used to post it is no longer... Bummer! I have a DVD you can have. Seriously. I probably will not watch it again. Not because I didn't love my wedding day, but I have my reasons.

Wedding Pictures

Many of you have expressed a wish to see wedding pictures. Well, here they are! If you didn't get to come to the wedding, Tim and I are terribly sorry. It was a wonderful time and we had a blast through it all. Our dads both officiated the ceremony in a tag-team sort of way. It was truly a family affair as Elizabeth Lowe, Tim's, played the violin for the seating of the parents and the processional. Regina Story, my grandmother, played the wedding march as her son (my dad) and I walked down the aisle. (This was truly a special moment for me- one that I will never forget!) Tana Haile, a childhood friend of mine, sang "Be Thou My Vision" during the lighting of the unity candle and communion. If you've never heard her precious voice, it is angelic to say the least! Tim's entire family minus a few cousins were able to attend- quite some feat! NONE of them live anywhere NEAR Texas and they all traveled just to be there. We were SO blessed by their presence. And last but not least, one guest joined us via live internet (with the help of Reggie Hudson and Bob Stout) from Iraq- the my oldest brother, Captain Robert P. Hurst USMC.
As we hit the wedding week, we realized what amazing friends and family we have. Each of the members of the wedding party had to travel quite some distance to be there for the festivities, something that we do not take lightly. One friend took a break from her studies in Scotland just to be an attendant for me! Words cannot express our gratitude for their presence on that day.
For Timothy and I, that day was exactly what we wanted it to be. It was fun, it was sweet, and it was full of friends and family. We thank each and every one of you who joined us for that special occasion and look forward to keeping you updated on our lives and where the Lord takes us.

Oh dear friends, the wedding pictures I had posted on this blog site are no longer. Not because I took them down, but because I was away too long and didn't realize the site I used to post them is no longer supported.  Not to worry! I have plenty of pics I'd be happy to share with you from our lovely day.

How Timothy Proposed...

If you haven't heard the story of how we got engaged, allow us to take a minute to share with you the excitement of that trip.

We had been planning since April of 2007 to go to the East Coast for the Moran Family Reunion (Tim's mom's family). Instead of just a weekend trip, we decided to make a week-long vacation out of it and headed to New England on July 18th. We flew in to Rhode Island and stayed with Tim's friends Sara and Josh Brown for a night or two. During those days, Louellen got the grand tour of Tim's past from his highschool, his home, and his haunts. Louellen got to experience some of the finest seafood she'd ever tasted. On Friday morning, we drove into Boston to walk the Freedom Trail. It's literally a historical walk on the road to Revolution in the birthplace of American Independence. (We both love history!) After a full day of walking and wide-eyed rememberance, we ended our walk in the Boston Commons. Lou was still very much playing the part of a tourist, taking pictures incessantly. Little did she know that her life would soon be changed forever with one question. Tim suggested we keep walking, and he led us to a bandstand in the back of the Commons. Once he finally got my attention, he said, "Louellen, you know that I love you. I have spent the past few days showing you my history and a little of where I came from. But I was wondering if you would like to spend the future with me. *This is where he knelt.* Louellen, will you marry me?" To which I promply replied, "YES!!!"

The rest of the trip was phenomenal with a trip to Plum Island to meet and spend time with the Lowe side of the family at Aunt Debbie and Uncle Dennis's house (it's beautiful!), followed by a trip to Hedding, New Hampshire to meet and spend time with the Moran family- almost all of them! It was such a blast; we didn't want to return. But that's just where the excitement begins....
